Gloria Dei’s Visitation Ministry team is composed of trained lay-ministers who accompany people during life’s challenges, listen to their spiritual needs, and demonstrate God’s love ensuring feelings of connection and remembrance.
The Call to Visitation Ministry
The Visitation Team is composed of called, trained, vetted, and supervised lay ministers who offer the following to those they serve:
- Connect with Gloria Dei
- Listen and hold space for the breadth of spiritual concerns
- Reflect together on God’s action in their lives
- Pray together
- Connect personally through calls and in-person visits
Visitation volunteers receive training on confidentiality, boundaries, community resources, listening and reflecting skills, and appropriate expectations. In some cases, visitation ministers serve as eucharistic (communion) ministers. The team is led and supervised by ministry leaders.
